In 2016, to our surprise, the glorious catamaran boat used by Tullio Abbate with success years before was seen again in the race at the Centomiglia del Lario.
It was the legendary "Folgore" powered by a 12000 cc Lamborghini, which was re-proposed for the occasion and taken to overall victory by his son Tullio Maria Junior.

In 2017, Tullio Maria Abbate brought the same boat back to the race in the Centomiglia, but an accident, fortunately without serious consequences, deprived him of another possible victory.

Tullio Maria Abbate's participation in a long-distance race like the Centomiglia del Lario resembled the so-called "swan song": in fact, with the new regulations and the temporary suspension of long-distance races (above all the Raid Pavia-Venezia), all classes of racing inboard-boarding were practically banned from any national competition.
